02/07/2024- The T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team might be able to fly home today evening after Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley announced that the airport is expected to become operational within the “next six to 12 hours.” The shutdown was caused by a Category 4 hurricane that brought life-threatening winds and storms to Barbados and nearby islands.
Since Sunday evening, Barbados has been in lockdown, affecting the country’s population of nearly 300,000. The resumption of airport operations will enable the team to return home after the weather disruption. The Indian team clinched the title of champion on Saturday by defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final.
