Medhavi Skills University (MSU) and the Ahalia group have launched India’s first-of-its-kind Bachelor in Visual Arts degree program. MSU, renowned for its commitment to foster skill-based learning has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ahalia Health Heritage and Knowledge Village, managed by the Ahalia International Foundation under its WISE (Work Integrated Skill-Based Higher Education) initiative.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Ahalia Campus, Palakkad, Kerala. Mr. Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, of MSU and Mrs. Shreya Gopal, Managing Trustee of Ahalia International Foundation, formalized this partnership.
The latest addition to the distinguished Ahalia foundation is the Ahalia School of Media Studies and Future Technologies (ASOMSAFT) in their Palakkad Campus, which focuses on cutting-edge education in media.
MSU and Ahalia through ASOMSAFT, will provide students with degree, diploma and certificate courses in industry-relevant and future technologies. The Bachelor in Visual Arts courses offer specializations in- Virtual Production, AI Media Arts and Practice, Extended Reality, Cinematic Visual Effects and Animation Film Design. The collaboration is also offering professional diploma & certificate in Screen Acting, Screenwriting, Cinema & New Age Media and Screenwriting for Cinema.
Bringing international standards to the programme at the Ahalia Media Park, the futuristic technology requirements of the programme will be supported by a renowned Sweden-based virtual production lab.
The students will get hands-on experience through on-the-job training at the state-of-the-art ASOMSAFT facilities, which stand where IIT Palakkad was previously operating.
Mr. Kuldip Sarma, MSU’s Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, expressed his views on the association, stating, “MSU’s vision is to create a dynamic learning environment that empowers media and communication students with practical skills and innovative thinking. This collaboration with Ahalia is a testament to our dedication to bridge the industry-academic gap.”

Distinguished guests including Mr. Sajeev Kumar S, Vice President, MSU, Dr. Krishnakumar Kishore, Executive Director of Ahalia Group and Mr. Sanju Surendran, Ahalia Media Park Consultant graced the ceremony.
Mr. Sajeev Kumar stated, “MSU acknowledges the boom India’s Media and Entertainment is seeing. The industry is expected to grow to INR 3.08 trillion by 2026 at 10-12% CAGR. MSU’s School of Modern Media and Entertainment is revolutionizing higher education in the sector through collaborations with global industry leaders to bring futuristic technologies to India. Recently, MSU introduced new-age audiography courses in collaboration with globally renowned Windmill Lane Recording Studios from Ireland.
