Apollo Hospital Sarjapur holds Walk & Run to raise awareness on heart health
The event featured four categories to encourage community participation and active living.
Bengaluru, October 10, 2026: Apollo Hospitals – Sarjapur Road held a Walk & Run at Decathlon Sports, Sarjapur Road, to raise awareness on cardiovascular health. The event featured a 3 km walk, 5 km walk, 5 km run and 10 km run, bringing together families, fitness enthusiasts and residents.
Chief guests included Padma Shri awardee and former Indian Blind Cricket Team captain Mr. Sekhar Naik; wheelchair tennis player Mrs. Prathima Rao; Delhi Public School East Principal Mrs. Manila Carvalho; and Hindustan Scouts and Guides Karnataka Chairman Dr. Afshad Ahmad.
The Team of Cardiologists educated the participants on CPR and how to save a person needing a CPR at any stage of time. The young participants also showed interest to learn the same and cleared their doubts on heart diseases, ways to keep the heart healthy and steps to keep fit.
The initiative encouraged regular physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices, while highlighting the importance of recognising warning signs and seeking timely medical attention.
