
Mumbai, October 08th, 2026: A delegation representing coaching classes met Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, Minister of State for School Education, Maharashtra, to discuss the proposed legislation for the registration and regulation of private coaching centres in the state.
The delegation requested that a representative of the coaching class sector be included in the committee preparing the draft of the proposed Bill, so that the practical concerns and suggestions of coaching institutes are considered while framing the legislation.
The representatives said that the proposed regulatory framework should be finalised after detailed consultation with stakeholders from the coaching sector.
Minister Pankaj Bhoyar assured the delegation that coaching class representatives would be taken into confidence before the Bill is finalised and passed, and that their suggestions would be considered.
Rajesh Kasat, Vice President, Maharashtra Class Owners Association, said: “We have certain suggestions to some provisions of the proposed Bill. Some of these provisions need to be reconsidered and suitably amended. We have placed our concerns before the Minister and requested that the coaching sector be given representation in the drafting process.”
Agasti Lawand, Director, Target Learning Ventures Pvt. Ltd., said: “The proposed legislation has important implications for the coaching sector. It is therefore important that the views and practical experience of coaching institutes are considered during the drafting and finalisation of the Bill.”
The delegation welcomed the Minister’s assurance and expressed its willingness to participate constructively in the consultation process.
