Noid, Oct 07: The Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India is organising the Special Handloom Expo – “Vastra Parampara: A Celebration of India’s Handloom Heritage.” The eight-day exhibition will be held from 8th to 15th October 2026 at Noida Haat, Sector 33A, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The Special Handloom Expo will remain open to the general public throughout the exhibition period from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. More than 75 weavers and artisans from different states across India will participate in the expo, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore and purchase authentic handloom and handicraft products from across the country.

The exhibition aims to promote India’s rich handloom and handicraft traditions, provide market opportunities to weavers and artisans, and create direct connections between traditional craftspeople and consumers.

Weavers and artisans from different states across India will showcase their traditional art, weaving techniques, handloom and handcrafted products. Visitors will be able to experience the distinctive colours, designs, techniques and craftsmanship associated with different regions of the country under one roof.

The expo will feature a wide range of handloom and handicraft products, including handloom sarees, suits, dupattas, shawls, stoles, kurtas, dhotis, bedsheets and home décor textiles, along with traditional handicrafts, artworks and decorative items.

The Special Handloom Expo is designed not only as a platform for showcasing products but also as an opportunity for people to experience India’s diverse textile and craft traditions. It seeks to strengthen direct interaction between weavers, artisans and consumers while encouraging the purchase and promotion of Indian handloom and handicraft products.

The initiative by the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, is aimed at strengthening the handloom and handicraft sector, supporting the livelihoods of weavers and artisans, expanding market opportunities and giving greater visibility to India’s rich textile and craft heritage.
