Flutter Entertainment India plants 400 saplings to create an indigenous fruit tree orchard at PJTAU

Hyderabad, 06th October 2026: Flutter Entertainment India (FEI), the Hyderabad-based Global Capability Centre for Flutter Entertainment — the world’s leading sports entertainment company, organized a tree plantation drive at All India Coordinated Research Project  on Agroforestry, Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, to support biodiversity and create a long-term Indigenous Fruit Tree Orchard as part of its ongoing volunteering social responsibility initiative of ‘Do More’, which is focused on giving back to the communities where its colleagues live and work.

In partnership with our global volunteer partner, OnHand, and facilitated by Nirmaan Organization, the initiative brought together nearly 100 Flutter Entertainment India colleagues who volunteered their time to plant 400 saplings of climate-resilient trees across a designated one-acre area of the university. The effort contributed to the creation of an Indigenous Fruit Tree Orchard comprising almost 20 different indigenous fruit tree species.

The initiative reflects FEI’s emphasis on creating meaningful opportunities for colleagues to participate directly in community efforts. Through volunteering, colleagues are encouraged to contribute their time and skills beyond their day-to-day roles while supporting initiatives that create a positive and lasting impact in the communities around them. The plantation drive at PJTAU brought this commitment to life by enabling colleagues to come together and contribute directly towards an environmental initiative that will benefit the campus and wider community over the long term.  Flutter Entertainment India provides its colleagues with two days of volunteering leave every year, enabling them to support causes that matter and give back to their communities.

Beyond the activity itself, the initiative is intended to create a long-term green resource for the PJTAU community. As the trees mature, they will contribute to increasing the campus’s green and canopy cover, supporting biodiversity and the local microclimate. The orchard will also provide opportunities for students and researchers to observe and study plants, soil, biodiversity and sustainable agriculture in a living campus environment.

Seema Padman, General Manager, Flutter Entertainment India, said: “At Flutter Entertainment India, giving back to the communities is an important part of our culture. Volunteering gives our colleagues an opportunity to step outside their everyday roles and contribute directly to causes that matter. The plantation drive at PJTAU brings these two aspects together — colleague participation and meaningful, long-term community impact. We are pleased to contribute to a greener campus through 400 native, climate-resilient trees, while creating a resource that can support the PJTAU community for years to come.”

Speaking on the initiative Mrs. Anuradha Pulla, Vice President, Nirmaan said, “We appreciate PJTAU for taking this initiative. Ecologically salient spaces have become the need of the hour with increasing environmental changes. As Nirmaan, we will continue to facilitate and strengthen the partnership between Flutter Entertainment India and PJTAU for such programs in near future too.”

The program was graced by Dr. M. Balaram, Director of Research, PJTAU, as the Chief Guest who stated that the orchard would serve as an excellent facility for conserving biodiversity, creating awareness among visiting students, providing educational opportunities for teachers, scientists and environmental enthusiasts, and facilitating research on indigenous fruit tree species under agroforestry systems.

The plantation will move into PJTAU’s ownership for continued care and upkeep, supporting the long-term growth of the trees and ensuring that the green cover benefits the university community in the years to come.
