Thiruvananthapuram, September 30, 2026: KIMSHEALTH marked ‘World Heart Day‘, by organising Heart 2 Heart, a programme hosted to formally announce its empanelment under the Hridyam scheme, an initiative of the Government of Keralam. Through this empanelment, KIMSHEALTH will provide free diagnosis, cardiac surgery and post-operative care to children up to 18 years of age, diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Adv.V V Rajesh, Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, inaugurated the programme. Dr M I Sahadulla, Group Chairman and Managing Director, KIMSHEALTH, presided over the function.
In his Presidential address, Dr M I Sahadulla said, “Congenital heart diseases continue to be a significant health concern among children, and timely diagnosis and treatment can make a profound difference to their lives. With advances in cardiac care, many of these conditions can be successfully treated, allowing children to lead a healthy life. Our empanelment under the Hridyam scheme, reflects KIMSHEALTH’s commitment to provide the best of cardiac care accessible to every child who needs it.”
In his inaugural address Mayor V V Rajesh said, “Rising health awareness and improved healthcare infrastructure are expanding access to better treatment. With skilled doctors and well-equipped hospitals, Thiruvananthapuram has now emerged as a destination for quality medical care for patients from across the world.”
As part of KIMSHEALTH’s 2000 ECG Drive, institutions that participated in this initiative were also honoured during the programme. The drive focused on raising awareness and encouraging the early detection of cardiac diseases. A walkathon was also organised at Manveeyam Veedhi, as part of World Heart Day. G Sparjan Kumar IPS, Transport Commissioner, flagged off the walkathon.
E M Najeeb, Co-founder, KIMSHEALTH, welcomed the gathering . Dr. Anees Thajudeen, Senior Consultant, Cardiology, gave the World Heart Day message. Dr. Soumya Ramanan Senior Consultant, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, proposed the vote of thanks.
