Mumbai, Sep 26: State Bank of India (SBI) has announced that customers will not be charged ATM transaction fees from September 28 to 30, as banks across the country observe a proposed three-day strike.
The temporary waiver is aimed at helping customers access cash without additional charges during the strike period, when branch operations may be affected.
SBI customers will be able to use ATMs during the three-day period without applicable transaction charges. The bank has also indicated that its major digital banking channels will continue to remain available, allowing customers to carry out routine payments and fund transfers remotely.
Services such as UPI, internet banking, mobile banking, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS are expected to provide customers with alternatives to physical branch visits during the strike.
To further reduce inconvenience, September 27, a Sunday, has been designated as a working day for public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks. Customers can use the additional working day to complete branch-related banking requirements before the strike begins.
The proposed nationwide bank strike is scheduled for September 28-30. The measures announced by SBI are intended to maintain access to essential banking facilities and support customers during the period when regular branch services could face disruption.
With ATM charges waived and digital banking channels continuing to operate, customers will have multiple options to manage routine financial transactions during the three-day strike.
