Chennai, Sep 23: Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology and Orient Flights Aviation Academy have been recognised for their contribution to aviation education and industry-oriented training. HIET received the “Excellence in Industry Oriented Aviation Education” award, while OFAA received the “Excellence in Aviation Education and Pilot Training” award.
The event was attended by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Labour and Employment and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, as Chief Guest. Shri Gaurav Gautam, Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship and Sports, Government of Haryana, and Shri Ashish Patel, Minister of Technical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, attended as Guests of Honour.
The awards were presented at the 3rd Edition of the Times Now Education Summit & Education Excellence Awards 2026, held at Taj Palace, New Delhi. The summit brought together education leaders, policymakers and representatives from institutions and industry to discuss key developments in education, including the role of Artificial Intelligence, industry engagement and the future of education towards 2047.
The recognition acknowledges the institutions’ focus on industry-aligned aviation education, with emphasis on professional training, safety, discipline and regulatory standards. For HIET Aviation College, the award marks a significant milestone in its efforts to strengthen aviation education through industry engagement, practical exposure and continued development of training capabilities.
