Mumbai, 22 September 2026: Generali Central Life Insurance Company Limited has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Mr. Saddam Hossain as Chief Risk Officer (CRO). A seasoned industry veteran with over 18 years of expertise across the life insurance sector, Mr. Hossain brings a distinguished track record in enterprise risk management, actuarial science, financial risk, and capital management to the Company. In his role as Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Hossain will oversee Company’s enterprise-wide risk framework, directing financial and non-financial risk strategies, cyber security, operational resilience, and capital & solvency management.
Prior to joining Generali Central Life Insurance, Mr. Hossain completed a highly successful 16-year tenure at Edelweiss Life Insurance, where he held several pivotal leadership positions, culminating in his role as Chief Risk Officer. During his tenure, he played a key role in driving robust risk governance and led critical initiatives across statutory valuation, product pricing, asset-liability management (ALM), EV/VNB, risk-based capital, and regulatory reporting. He also built foundational industry experience during an earlier tenure with SBI Life Insurance.
Mr. Hossain is a Fellow Actuary and holds advanced academic qualifications, including an M.Tech and an M.Sc in Mathematics. Highly regarded as an active industry contributor, he has shaped regulatory frameworks through his involvement with the IRDAI Regulations Review Committee and the Risk-Based Capital Working Group. His exemplary contributions in risk governance have been recognized with the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for Risk Management.
