Chennai, September 21: GRT Hotels & Resorts has officially announced the launch of the inaugural edition of The Great Indian Tourism Quiz, a nationwide event designed to celebrate India’s rich history, diverse culture, and regional heritage through an engaging competitive format. The event will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM IST (World Tourism Day), hosted live at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Suites GRT Chennai, with people from across India invited to participate online by registering in advance.
The announcement was made during an exclusive press briefing addressed by Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali, Dewan to the Prince of Arcot – who will also personally serve as the Quiz Master for the event – alongside Mr. Vikram Cotah, CEO of GRT Hotels & Resorts. Conceived to bridge cultural heritage with active learning and homegrown tourism, the initiative aims to connect youth, history enthusiasts, and travelers across all age groups.
The landmark quiz is being organized in association with prominent industry partners: India Tourism, Tamil Nadu Tourism, ASSOCHAM, IATO, SICCI, SIHRA, SKÅL International India, FHRAI, EEMA and the Sustainable Development Council (in association with the United Nations).
