Sep 17: As the country comes together during the festive season to celebrate the spirit of unity, togetherness, and collective pride, Paradise Cinemas has announced a feature film based on the extraordinary life and valour of Param Vir Chakra hero Veer Abdul Hamid.

The film was announced by Hon’ble Shri Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, in the presence of Hon’ble Shri Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home Affairs, senior Army personnel and Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav, at Veer Abdul Hamid’s birthplace in Ghazipur. The film will be produced by Paradise Cinemas, with Co-founder Manish Vasisht present at the ceremony. The occasion was also attended by Jamil Aalam, grandson of Veer Abdul Hamid, and Tapan Kumar Dey, Partner and Vice President of the Veer Abdul Hamid Trust.
The announcement comes at a time when the spirit of togetherness and national pride is being celebrated across the country, making it an apt moment to bring forward the story of a soldier whose courage and sacrifice remain an inspiring part of India’s military history.
Veer Abdul Hamid made the supreme sacrifice during the 1965 India-Pakistan War and was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest wartime gallantry honour, for his extraordinary bravery in combat against enemy Patton tanks.
Speaking on the announcement, Mr. Puskur Rammohan Rao, veteran Film Producer and Founder of Paradise Cinemas, said,
“Veer Abdul Hamid’s story represents courage, duty and an unwavering commitment to the nation. His life reminds us that the spirit of India is strengthened by the courage of those who put the country before themselves. We are deeply honoured to bring his extraordinary journey to the big screen. At a time when the country is celebrating the spirit of togetherness and unity, we felt this was a meaningful moment to announce a film on a true Param Veer whose legacy belongs to the nation. Our endeavour will be to make a film worthy of his extraordinary life and sacrifice.”
Manish Vasisht, Co-founder, Paradise Cinemas, added,
“For us, this is more than just a film. It is an opportunity to honour a brave soldier whose courage continues to inspire generations. Veer Abdul Hamid’s story is deeply rooted in the values of bravery, service and love for the nation. We feel privileged to take his journey to audiences across the country and introduce his inspiring legacy to a new generation.”
The film is currently in development, with the director, cast and creative team to be announced at a later stage.
Paradise Cinemas now looks forward to bringing the inspiring story of Veer Abdul Hamid, from his birthplace in Ghazipur to the silver screen, and celebrating the legacy of a soldier whose courage remains an enduring part of India’s history.
