Gurugram, Sep 15: Knauf, World’s no. 1 company in Drywall and Ceiling Solutions, recently participated in a tree plantation drive at IFFCO Chowk, Gurugram in India. The activity formed part of a larger nature-based initiative along the IFFCO Chowk stretch, aimed at strengthening urban resilience, improving rainwater management, and enhancing the surrounding green cover. 

Knauf India Strengthens Sustainability Efforts with Tree Plantation Drive in Gurugram

The plantation drive was part of a larger sustainability initiative along the IFFCO Chowk stretch. For the past few months, Knauf India, in collaboration with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority and iamGurgaon, has been implementing nature-based stormwater interventions along this stretch. They include bioswales, recharge channels and rainwater harvesting structures, designed to enable rainwater to move more naturally through the urban landscape and support groundwater recharge. The initiative is intended to improve rainwater absorption, support groundwater recharge and contribute to a more resilient urban environment. It also reflects the importance of collaboration between civic authorities, community organisations and businesses in addressing environmental challenges in rapidly growing cities. 

Around 40 members of the Knauf India team participated in the tree plantation activity, further strengthening the company’s on-ground engagement with the initiative.
