Working at the frontline of resource development, he represents a new generation of engineers helping unlock domestic reserves and further India‘s energy self-reliance aspirations.
The future of energy is also being shaped through technology and automation. Sneha Gupta, a Graduate Engineer Trainee in Instrumentation at Ravva oilfield in Andhra Pradesh, is part of a new generation of engineers driving operational efficiency and reliability through advanced control and safety systems. From supporting critical instrumentation systems to leading refurbishment initiatives, her journey reflects the growing role of digitalization and automation in modern energy operations, especially in the offshore operations.
A critical aspect of energy operations is ensuring the highest standards of safety. Rushikesh Ravindra Shingne, Senior Engineer – Fire & Safety, oversees fire safety and emergency response across onshore and offshore operations on the East Coast. Having started his journey as a Graduate Engineer Trainee, he now leads initiatives aimed at strengthening emergency preparedness, driving safety innovations and protecting both people and assets.
The diversity of talent across Cairn, Vedanta Oil & Gas reflects the evolving nature of engineering itself. Today, more than 60% of companies’ engineering workforce is young talent (under 35 years of age), bringing fresh perspectives to challenges in exploration, production and sustainability. The growing participation of women engineers is further strengthening innovation and collaboration across operations.
