Gurugram, 11 September 2026: In a significant advancement in women’s healthcare, Manipal Hospital Gurugram has successfully treated complex endometriosis cases using advanced laparoscopic and robot-assisted techniques, led by Dr Amita Shah, Chairman – Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Robotic Laparoscopy & Endoscopy Surgery, Manipal Hospital Gurugram . The achievement comes as Dr. Amita Shah becomes the first gynaecologist in India to perform 41 robotic gynaecological surgeries in 90 days . The cases included a 29-year-old woman diagnosed with endometriotic cysts who successfully conceived following fertility-preserving minimally invasive excision surgery; another 32-year-old woman whose progressively worsening painful periods were ultimately linked to endometriosis and successfully treated through laparoscopic excision surgery, and a 31-year-old woman suffering from constant abdominal pain, back pain, bloating, bilateral endometriotic cysts, and extensive adhesions that had led to hydrosalpinx. Advanced minimally invasive and robot-assisted techniques enabled precise treatment while preserving healthy tissue and reproductive function wherever possible.
