Sanctoria, Asansol, Sep 11: Eastern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has issued a clarification regarding certain unauthorised claims being circulated on social media platforms by individuals and groups claiming to have been authorised to facilitate ECL’s business operations and matters relating to specific collieries and Area Offices.
It has come to the notice of ECL management that certain social media groups are circulating lists and identifying individuals who falsely claim to have been authorised by the company to deal with, intervene in, or mediate in the operational and business affairs of ECL.
ECL categorically clarifies that no external individual, agency, group or intermediary has been authorised or appointed by the company to represent its management or to intervene in, mediate or facilitate any operational or business matter on its behalf.
All operational and business activities of ECL are undertaken strictly through its duly designated officers and established institutional channels, in accordance with the prescribed rules, procedures and systems of the company.
ECL has not appointed any external agents or intermediaries for dealing with such matters. Stakeholders, vendors, contractors and members of the public are therefore advised to exercise due caution and not to rely upon or engage with individuals making such unauthorised representations or claims.
The company further clarifies that ECL shall not be responsible for any financial loss, liability or business transaction arising out of dealings undertaken with any person or entity on the basis of such unauthorised representations.
ECL urges all concerned to rely only on official communications issued through the company’s authorised channels and to report any such unauthorised claims or representations to the appropriate ECL authorities.
