Kochi, Sep 08: Sanskara School, an educational initiative of The Muthoot Group, will organise the second season of its inter-school coding hackathon, ‘Hack Your Future’, on September 10 and 11 at Sanskara School, Infopark Phase II, Kakkanad, Kochi.
The two-day programme, supported by Google Cloud and organised in association with Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science, Kochi, is aimed at introducing school students to Artificial Intelligence, coding and emerging technologies through a combination of hands-on learning and problem-solving.
The programme is open to students from Classes 9 to 12, with no prior coding experience required. It seeks to take students from being “curious to creator” by providing exposure to real-world AI tools, machine learning, generative AI, data, ethics and prompt engineering.
The first day, scheduled for September 10, will feature an AI Bootcamp from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students will work with AI tools and platforms, including Google AI tools, Teachable Machine, Gemini and no-code AI platforms. Mentor sessions by Google mentors and faculty/mentors from MITS Kochi will further familiarise participants with emerging AI technologies.
The second day, on September 11, will feature the Hackathon, from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., where participating teams will ideate and develop AI-powered solutions or prototypes to address real-world challenges.
The hackathon will focus on themes including education, healthcare, sustainability and smart communities. Teams will have six hours to build and pitch their solutions before a panel of judges. The top teams will also get an opportunity to showcase their projects before parents, media and school leaders. The team securing first place will receive a cash prize of ₹20,000, while the second- and third-place winners will receive prizes of ₹10,000 and ₹5,000, respectively.
The initiative is designed to develop design thinking, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills among students while encouraging them to explore the practical applications of AI. Participants will receive certificates and develop project portfolios through the programme.
