Kaysville, Utah, Jan 15 — OptConnect, a leading provider of managed wireless connectivity solutions, today announced it has acquired Canadian-based DPL Wireless (“DPL”), an established provider of cellular connectivity and IoT device-intelligence solutions. This combination of two respected technology companies will drive greater innovation for the IoT sector with a highly intelligent, AI-powered connectivity platform for ATMs and other IoT applications.
“Our decision to bring together OptConnect and DPL ultimately means we can do more for customers than either of us could do alone,” said Chris Baird, CEO of OptConnect. “By combining DPL’s sophisticated AI insights and autonomous actions with OptConnect’s global IoT managed connectivity, we aim to strengthen reliability, expand innovation, and deliver a more complete solution for our customers who depend on us for the highest uptime possible.”
Consolidating two IoT leaders under one umbrella also facilitates greater product development capabilities, deeper inventory, scaled logistics, and heightened intelligence via OptConnect’s ConnectIQ and DPL’s Hercules AI platforms — while adding infrastructure for the Hercules AI roadmap.
“This partnership gives us the scale and resources to accelerate the work we’ve been doing for years,” said Marc Albert, Managing Director of DPL. “OptConnect’s culture and commitment to customers align closely with ours, and together we’re creating a stronger foundation for continued growth, smarter technology, and an even better experience for ATM deployers and IoT partners.”
DPL follows OptConnect’s acquisition of Premier Wireless Solutions, M2M DataGlobal, and Capestone. Together, these businesses create a premier global managed wireless connectivity platform of scale, capable of supporting customers across multiple industries and solution needs around the world.
DPL will continue to operate as ‘DPL Wireless, a division of OptConnect’ at its Canadian headquarters in Moncton, New Brunswick and at its satellite office in Rothesay, New Brunswick. Marc Albert will remain with the business as Managing Director of the DPL business unit.
