Mumbai, Sep 07: Electromech Infraprojects has announced its entry into India’s semiconductor infrastructure sector, expanding its engineering and project delivery capabilities into one of the country’s emerging strategic industries. The company will leverage its experience across data centres, industrial and mission-critical infrastructure to address the specialised physical infrastructure requirements of semiconductor manufacturing, OSAT, ATMP and allied electronics facilities.
The move comes as India builds out a domestic semiconductor ecosystem, with infrastructure emerging as an important enabler across fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging and associated electronics manufacturing. These facilities require specialised building services and tightly integrated engineering systems to support the operating conditions and reliability standards associated with semiconductor production.
Electromech will bring its experience in mission-critical, data centre and industrial infrastructure to this segment, with capabilities spanning integrated MEP engineering, critical power, precision HVAC, utilities, project management, testing and commissioning while the company continues to develop sector-specific expertise around the requirements of semiconductor facilities.
“India’s semiconductor opportunity is no longer only about building fabs and assembly facilities; it is about creating the infrastructure ecosystem capable of supporting them to global standards. These facilities demand far greater precision in power quality, thermal management, environmental control and integrated engineering than conventional industrial projects. Our experience across mission-critical and high-reliability environments gives us a strong foundation to understand these requirements, while the semiconductor sector will require us to build further specialised capabilities. The real opportunity for India is to develop infrastructure expertise alongside manufacturing capacity, because the reliability and performance of the built environment will increasingly be integral to the competitiveness of the semiconductor ecosystem,” said Varun Maniar, Managing Director, Electromech Infraprojects.
Electromech Infraprojects has delivered more than 600 projects across industrial, manufacturing, logistics, commercial and mission-critical environments, with experience contributing to over 350 MW of IT load. The company’s integrated project delivery approach is supported by BIM-led design coordination, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, prefabrication, modularisation and digital project tracking. Its manufacturing footprint of more than 2 lakh sq. ft. across Mumbai and Hyderabad further supports these capabilities, enabling greater coordination across engineering, manufacturing and on-site execution.
With its entry into the semiconductor sector, Electromech will focus on building the specialised engineering and execution capabilities needed to support the next generation of semiconductor and electronics manufacturing infrastructure in India.
