Noida, Sep 4: Noida has stepped up security and traffic arrangements across the city as temples prepare to welcome large crowds for Krishna Janmashtami celebrations on Friday.
More than 600 police personnel have been deployed at major temples and other sensitive locations to maintain law and order and ensure the celebrations pass off peacefully. The deployment includes personnel from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), around 20 inspectors and more than 300 police personnel.
The ISKCON Temple in Sector 33 is expected to attract one of the largest gatherings of devotees. To manage the anticipated rush, traffic restrictions and diversions have been introduced on roads surrounding the temple.
Vehicles travelling from the ATPC underpass towards Gijhour intersection, as well as those moving from Gijhour Chowk towards the ATPC, will face restrictions. Traffic heading from Gijhour towards the Atta underpass will be diverted through Hoshiarpur intersection and other alternative routes.
Dedicated parking arrangements have also been made for devotees. Visitors to the ISKCON Temple can use the parking facility near the Adobe Building, while VVIP vehicles will enter through the Sector 33/34 intersection and park at Shilp Haat.
Traffic police have also planned alternate routes for vehicles travelling towards Sectors 60, 62 and Indirapuram from the Sector 31/25 intersection. Such vehicles will be directed through Spice Mall, Adobe Chowk and Sectors 22, 23 and 54 to ease pressure on roads around the temple.
Security measures have been extended to other prominent temples across Noida, where special prayers and religious programmes are scheduled throughout the day. Traffic restrictions may also be introduced around the Sanatan Dharma Temple in Sector 19 depending on the movement of devotees.
Traffic near the Sector 2 temple will also be regulated if congestion increases. Movement between Sandeep Paper Mill Square and Golchakkar Chowk may be restricted when necessary.
Authorities have advised devotees to avoid unnecessary parking near temple premises and use designated parking facilities. The arrangements are aimed at keeping roads clear, managing large gatherings and ensuring that devotees can participate in Janmashtami celebrations safely and smoothly.
