Pune, Sep 03: Marking the birthday of its Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Somnath P. Patil, Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, organised a special Corporate Social Responsibility and heritage outreach visit to Raireshwar in Bhor, Pune district. The historic site holds immense significance as the place where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is believed to have taken the oath of Swarajya. The initiative brought together the spirit of celebration, service, heritage and environmental responsibility, with the university team connecting with the local community, honouring teachers and participating in a plantation drive.
A team from Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, travelled to the Raireshwar plateau, known for its scenic beauty, misty hills and green meadows during the monsoon. The team began the day with a visit to the sacred Raireshwar Temple, where a special Rudrabhishek was performed with due respect for the sanctity of the place.
As part of the outreach programme, the university team also visited the Zilla Parishad Primary School at Raireshwar and felicitated the teachers of the school for their dedication towards educating children in this remote hilly region. Books and stationery were presented to the teachers in appreciation of their service. The team also took part in a plantation drive in the surrounding area, in keeping with the university’s commitment to protecting the natural environment of the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Somnath P. Patil, Pro-Chancellor, Dnyaan Prasad Global University (DPGU), by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, said:
“Raireshwar is not just a place, it is a symbol of the courage and vision with which Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj laid the foundation of Swarajya. Patil Group, Pune, this visit was a way of paying our respects to that history and, at the same time, standing beside the teachers and children of this region who carry forward the same spirit of hard work in their own way. Education and service to society go hand in hand for us, and visits like this remind our students where true leadership comes from.”
Dr. Mohan Waman, Vice-Chancellor of Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, also spoke about the importance of such initiatives in guiding young minds towards knowledge, confidence and success, and thanked the local school and villagers of Raireshwar for their warm support during the visit.
