As the festive season draws closer, Delhi-NCR is preparing to celebrate Janmashtami with music, devotion, and community gatherings. From traditional temple celebrations to contemporary takes on bhajans, the region has several experiences lined up for those looking to honour the occasion while enjoying an evening out. 

From soulful bhajans to high-energy celebrations, here’s where the festivities are unfolding.

1. Raas Rhythm: The Bhajan Jamming at Felix Plaza, Gurugram 

Felix Plaza is set to host Raas Rhythm: The Bhajan Jamming on September 5, bringing devotional music into an engaging, festive setting. Featuring a live performance by Rahasya, the evening will invite visitors to sing, clap, and participate in a live bhajan experience, alongside artisan pop-ups, festive delicacies, and Divine photo-op installations. The celebration will culminate in a community bhajan. With family rooms, stroller rental, concierge support, valet parking, EV charging, and differently abled washrooms, the destination is also equipped to make the evening convenient for varied groups.

2. The Synergy: Bhajan Jamming at The Esplanade Mall, Gurugram 

If you want to get into the Janmashtami spirit a day early, The Synergy is worth considering. On September 12, Chinansha Sharma brings together soulful bhajans, live percussion, chanting, rhythm, and dance in a format that actively pulls the audience in rather than keeping them at a distance. It runs from 7 PM to 8:30 PM, and tickets start at ₹349, making it an easy, accessible evening out.

3. ISKCON Gurugram Janmashtami 2026 at Sri Sri Radha Damodar Mandir 

For a more traditional Janmashtami experience, ISKCON Gurugram is hosting an extensive celebration at Sri Sri Radha Damodar Mandir on September 4. The programme will include divine darshan, continuous kirtan, a devotional rock show, Anand Bazar food street, Maha-Prasadam, family activities, and cultural programmes. The celebration will continue into the night with the Maha-Abhishek at 11 PM and Maha-Aarti at midnight, offering visitors a full-day devotional experience rooted in the traditions of Krishna Janmashtami.

4. Shri Krishna Janmashtami Utsav at Chinmaya Mission, Sector 50, Gurugram 

With programmes lined up from morning to evening, Chinmaya Mission Gurugram will mark Janmashtami with a day of devotional and community participation at Chinmaya Gurudham in Sector 50, Gurugram”. The morning programme will feature Laddu Gopal Abhishek, Vishnu Sahasranamam, bhajans and dance, while the evening will include 108 Naam Archana, soulful bhajans, Dandiya and midnight Maha-Aarti. Running across two sessions on September 4, the celebration offers families and devotees an opportunity to experience both the spiritual and more participatory sides of the festival.

5. Backstage Siblings: The Bhakti Dance Floor at KD Jadhav Wrestling Stadium, Delhi 

If your idea of a Janmashtami celebration involves more movement and energy, The Bhakti Dance Floor is built for exactly that. On 5th September, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Backstage Siblings will bring a contemporary energy to devotional music with The Bhakti Dance Floor, combining live bhajans, chanting, clapping, and dancing into an experience where the audience is encouraged to become an active part of the performance. The 3-hour event features popular devotional favourites such as Achyutam Keshavam and Hanuman Chalisa, with tickets starting from INR 1199.
