Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: Manipal Comprehensive Scanning Facility is now at Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar with an advanced PET/CT facility, strengthening access to advanced imaging for cancer diagnosis, assessment and treatment monitoring in the region. The facility enables doctors to obtain detailed information about both the structure and functioning of tissues and organs, supporting clinical decision-making across different stages of cancer care.
The Occasion was recognised by Mr Partha Das, Chief People Officer-Manipal Hospitals and Dr Saktimaya Mohapatra, Cluster Director, South East, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar, in the presence of senior management, doctors and hospital staff.
Alongside the Manipal Comprehensive Scanning Facility, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar has also introduced new OPD services, expanding access to specialist consultations and healthcare services at the hospital. The new services are aimed at making it easier for patients to access consultations, investigations and further treatment under one roof.
A PET/CT scan combines two types of imaging in one examination. PET shows how tissues and organs are functioning, while CT provides detailed pictures of the body’s internal structures. Together, they can give doctors a more complete picture of where a disease may be present and how it is affecting the body.
The advanced PET/CT facility will support cancer care by helping doctors detect and assess abnormal areas, evaluate the extent of disease and monitor changes during treatment.
