Chennai, August 31, 2026: Vinita Multi–Speciality Hospital organised a complimentary medical camp for police officers and their families at Cochin House Police Quarters in Thousand Lights West, Chennai, with the support of the Tamil Nadu Police and Greater Chennai Police. The initiative was organised as a special health and welfare programme to recognise the service and dedication of police personnel who work tirelessly to protect the city.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. V. Jayachandran, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Triplicane; Mr. P. Ponraj, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Nungambakkam; Mr. Subbumari Valavan, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Quarters & Welfare; and Mr. E. Ramasundaram, Inspector of Police, Nungambakkam.
The medical camp was organised under the leadership of Vinod K. Dasari, Chairman, Vinita Hospital, and Dr. Sarita Vinod, Managing Director, Vinita Hospital and Senior American Board-certified Nephrologist, with the aim of promoting preventive healthcare and supporting the well-being of police officials and their families.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Sarita Vinod (Managing Director, Vinita Hospital) said, “Police personnel dedicate themselves to serving and protecting our communities, often working under demanding circumstances. Through this initiative, we wanted to extend our support to them and their families by providing access to preventive health screenings and medical care. We are grateful to the Tamil Nadu Police and Greater Chennai Police for supporting this initiative and helping us take this effort to the police community.”
The camp offered a comprehensive range of complimentary health screenings and medical check-ups, including haemogram, random blood sugar, cholesterol, urine routine, urea and creatinine tests. HbA1c testing was available for known diabetic patients, while PSA screening was offered to those above 60 years of age. The camp also included pulmonary function tests and dental check-ups, with ECG and echocardiogram facilities for diabetic or hypertensive patients.
The camp also included a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training session for police officers, providing them with practical awareness and basic skills to respond to cardiac emergencies and other life-threatening situations.
A total of 129 patients comprising police personnel and their family members underwent health screenings and medical check-ups during the camp. Of these, 65 were female and 64 were male. The screenings were aimed at promoting regular health monitoring and enabling early identification of potential health concerns, particularly among police personnel and their families.
The medical camp underscored the importance of preventive healthcare and regular medical screening, while reflecting the shared commitment of Vinita Multi–Speciality Hospital, Tamil Nadu Police and Greater Chennai Police towards the health and welfare of police officials and their families.
