The summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam, with India hosting the gathering as BRICS chair for 2026. The meeting will be the central event of India’s year-long chairship and will provide an opportunity for member countries to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and address shared challenges.
India’s BRICS chairship has focused on four broad areas — resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability. These priorities cover issues ranging from economic and trade cooperation to technology, digital development, climate action and sustainable growth.
Preparations for the summit have been gathering pace in the national capital. Authorities are working on arrangements covering security, infrastructure, traffic management and facilities for visiting leaders and their delegations. Security agencies are also preparing a multi-layered security plan for the high-profile gathering.
