New Delhi, Aug 24: Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Canada and the United States from August 25 to September 2 as India seeks to deepen economic and financial cooperation with the two countries.
During her visit to Canada, Sitharaman is scheduled to participate in the first India-Canada Economic and Financial Dialogue. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral economic relations, financial cooperation, investment and areas of mutual interest.
The visit comes as India and Canada look to expand engagement in areas such as trade, investment, energy, critical minerals, technology and resilient supply chains.
Sitharaman is also expected to interact with business leaders and investors during her visit. Such engagements will provide an opportunity to discuss investment opportunities in India and encourage greater participation by international businesses.
Her programme in the United States will include further discussions on economic and financial issues and India’s wider engagement with global partners.
