Singapore, Aug 21: India is looking to deepen its economic and business partnership with Singapore and expand cooperation across key Asian markets, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said during his visit to Singapore.

Addressing the India-Singapore Business Forum, Goyal highlighted India’s economic growth, investment opportunities and government efforts to improve the ease of doing business.
He said there is significant scope for greater business-to-business cooperation between India and Singapore, particularly in trade, investment, technology and emerging sectors.
Goyal also highlighted opportunities for Indian farmers and processed-food companies to expand their presence in Singapore and use the country as a gateway to wider ASEAN and Australian markets.
At an APEDA-FairPrice roadshow, Indian agricultural and food products including fruits and vegetables, dairy products, rice, cashews, millet-based products and organic produce were showcased to promote Indian exports in Singapore.
The minister also held discussions on cooperation in financial technology, digital economy and financial innovation with Sopnendu Mohanty, Group CEO of Global Finance and Technology Network.
During the visit, Goyal also met Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel Infrastructure, to explore opportunities for greater cooperation in infrastructure and related sectors.
Goyal further participated in the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable along with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada.
The discussions underline India’s focus on strengthening its economic partnership with Singapore and creating new opportunities for trade, investment and business expansion across Asia.
