Delhi-NCR, Aug 20: On Akshay Urja Diwas, India’s day to spotlight the shift from fossil fuels to renewable power, Best Power Equipments Private Limited applauded the nation’s monumental milestones of crossing 291.73 GW in total renewable energy capacity, anchored by an impressive 164.59 GW in cumulative solar power. To complement this massive green grid expansion, BPE spotlighted its continued commitment to accelerating the shift from traditional diesel backups to intelligent energy storage solutions. The smart power and energy solutions company is growing exponentially, powered by rising demand for dependable, efficient power infrastructure across India and abroad.

Akshay Urja Day (20th Aug) I Press release & Quote of Best Power Equipment

Akshay Urja Diwas, observed every August 20 since 2004, exists to remind the country why renewable energy matters. India’s operational battery energy storage capacity reached just 8.5 GWh in the first half of 2026, according to the India Energy Storage Alliance, even as the Central Electricity Authority’s National Electricity Plan projects the country will need upwards of 411 GWh of energy storage by 2031-32 to support reliable integration of renewable energy. It is this gap, between how much clean power India generates and how much of it can actually be stored and used when needed, that BPE has built its growth around.

BPE’s lithium-ion storage platforms carry solar MPPT compatibility, drawing directly from renewable generation rather than the grid alone. Its containerised battery energy storage systems are designed to replace diesel generators outright, and its power conversion systems are engineered for high efficiency, so less energy is lost between storage and load. It’s this shift, from diesel-dependent backup to intelligent, solar-integrated storage, that BPE sees as its contribution to the mission Akshay Urja Diwas was created to advance.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Amitansu Satpathy, Founder and Group Managing Director, BPE, said:

“Akshay Urja Diwas is a reminder that generating clean power is only half the job; storing it and delivering it reliably is the other half. Our lithium-ion products and dedicated energy storage platforms are built to work alongside solar, so the power generated in daylight doesn’t go to waste once the sun sets, and our BESS systems are designed to do the job diesel gensets have done for decades, without the diesel. As that shift accelerates, our priority is to deepen our manufacturing capabilities, strengthen international partnerships, and build a larger role for India-made storage solutions in the country’s clean energy transition.”

BPE has recently expanded its manufacturing footprint to approximately 1,50,000 sq. ft. across six facilities, including a new unit in Greater Noida, with offices in Singapore and Dubai, and an expanding presence in the United Kingdom. The company is expanding further through manufacturing collaborations in Indonesia and planned entry into Russia, Romania and the CIS region.

BPE serves customers in more than 25 countries, employs over 500 engineers, and supports more than five million installations globally.
