A national-level workshop on the Mangrove Initiative for Shoreline Habitats and Tangible Incomes (MISHTI) was held in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on 8–9 January 2026, bringing together forest officials, domain experts, and key stakeholders from across the country.

The workshop was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav for supporting states in mangrove conservation through the MISHTI scheme.

A key presentation was made by Anand Mohan, Chief Executive Officer of National CAMPA, outlining the objectives and implementation framework of MISHTI. Emphasis was placed on the role of mangroves in strengthening climate resilience, protecting coastlines, and supporting sustainable economic outcomes.
