Bhubaneswar, Aug.17 (UDN): More than one crore women beneficiaries of Odisha’s flagship Subhadra Yojana are set to receive the next instalment of financial assistance on August 28, coinciding with Raksha Purnima.

Subhadra Yojana Brings Fresh Relief for Over 1 Crore Women in Odisha

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced the disbursement on Monday, stating that the payment will be made during a state-level programme in Nayagarh.

According to Parida, women who have submitted their applications by August 28 and meet the prescribed eligibility criteria will be considered for the benefit. Beneficiaries from earlier lists who have pending instalments may also receive their dues together, subject to verification.

The Subhadra scheme has received a substantial response across the state. As of now, 1,15,75,633 applications have been registered, including 3,17,966 fresh applications received during the 2026-27 financial year.

For the fifth instalment, 1,02,04,396 women were initially identified as potential beneficiaries. However, subsequent verification by district administrations found 5,277 beneficiaries to be deceased, following which their names were removed from the list.

After the verification process, the final number of beneficiaries for the fifth instalment has been revised to 1,01,99,119 women.

The latest disbursement will add to the substantial financial assistance already provided under the Subhadra scheme. Through its first four instalments, more than Rs 12,064.86 crore has already been transferred directly into the bank accounts of over one crore women across Odisha.

With the next instalment scheduled for August 28, the Subhadra scheme is set to provide another round of financial support to more than one crore eligible women across the state.

The timing of the disbursement on Raksha Purnima is also expected to make the occasion particularly significant for the beneficiaries and their families.
