Mumbai, Aug 14: A routine train journey from Nalasopara to Kandivali turned into a race against time on August 13, 2026, during the daytime, when a 35-year-old pregnant woman developed severe labour pain while travelling through Borivali Railway Station. With the baby already descending, immediate medical intervention was required.
Railway personnel promptly rushed the woman to the EMR – Emergency Medical Response Centre at Borivali Railway Station, operated by APEX Group of Hospitals. The Medical Officers and nursing staff rapidly assessed her condition and recognised that delivery was imminent.
With no time to transfer her to another hospital, the APEX EMR team prepared for an emergency delivery at the centre. Through coordinated efforts, timely intervention and emergency preparedness, the team successfully delivered the baby safely.
