New Delhi, Aug 13: The 124th meeting of the State Level Bankers’ Committee, Delhi, was held on 12 August at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Principal Secretary Shri Santosh Vaidya and Shri M. Paramasivam, Executive Director, Punjab National Bank.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials and banking-sector dignitaries, including Shri Sarada Prasan Mohanty, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, New Delhi; Ms. Nazuk Kumar, Managing Director, Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation; Shri Rajneesh Gupta, Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police; Shri M. M. Ayappan, Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services; and Shri Nabin Roy, Chief General Manager, NABARD.
The proceedings were coordinated by Shri Debarchan Sahoo, General Manager and SLBC Convenor. Senior officials from various banks, Delhi State Heads and other distinguished representatives also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, Shri Santosh D Vaidya has reviewed the performance of banks under PM Surya Ghar and various social security schemes
Shri M M Ayyappan has advised bank to improve TAT in lending.
Shri Sarada Prasan Mohanty Regional Director RBI has said that with co-ordination with SLBC we will monitor MSME growth of banking sector.
Ms. Nazuk Kumar briefed the participating banks on Delhi State DCGS scheme where 95% CGTMSE cover is available. She encouraged banks to actively extend finance to eligible beneficiaries under these schemes and emphasized the role of credit support in promoting entrepreneurship and economic development in Delhi.
Shri Rajneesh Gupta, Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police, created awareness among the bankers about the growing threat of cyber fraud and “digital arrest” scams. He highlighted the need for greater vigilance and urged banks to strengthen customer awareness and preventive measures against cyber-related financial crimes.
The meeting provided an important platform for senior government officials, regulators and banking representatives to review the progress of various initiatives, address challenges and enhance coordination for improving financial inclusion and supporting the economic development of Delhi.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continued cooperation among the State Government, Reserve Bank of India, NABARD, Delhi Police and the banking sector to ensure effective implementation of government schemes and provide secure and accessible banking services to citizens.
