New Delhi, Aug 07: Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Padma Shri awardee, has been appointed Co–Chair of the prestigious International Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He will additionally serve as Chair of the Gulf Council and Co Chair of Africa Council.
He is currently representing India on the BRICS Business Council, with India set to host the BRICS Business Council meeting from 10–12 September in New Delhi.
Expressing his gratitude on the appointment, Dr. Sahney said he was humbled by the honour and thanked CII and the Ministry of Commerce for reposing their faith and confidence in him.
Dr. Sahney brings with him extensive diplomatic and entrepreneurial experience. He has previously served as Honorary Consul General of South Africa to India and was earlier a Member of PM’s India–Africa Council.
Dr. Sahney also brings deep exposure to the Gulf region, from the UAE, to Egypt and Jordan, positioning him well to strengthen India’s economic and trade ties with these regions.
