Pune, Aug 4: Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, in collaboration with Mission Smile and Kotak Mahindra under its social outreach initiative, will organize a Free Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery Camp for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate on Friday, 7 August 2026.
The camp will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Plastic Surgery Outpatient Department , First Floor, High-Tech Building, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune The initiative aims to ensure that children born with cleft lip and cleft palate receive timely diagnosis, expert surgical treatment, and comprehensive medical care.
Patients examined during the camp and found eligible for treatment will be admitted for further management. All services, including laboratory investigations, surgery, post-operative care, medicines, hospital stay, and meals for the patient and one accompanying family member, will be provided completely free of cost. This initiative is expected to provide significant relief to economically disadvantaged families seeking specialized treatment for their children.
Children affected by cleft lip and cleft palate often face not only physical challenges related to feeding, speech, and facial development, but also emotional and social difficulties that may affect their confidence and quality of life. Through this initiative, the hospital seeks to offer these children a new beginning by improving their health, restoring function, and bringing a confident smile to their faces.
