Hyderabad, July 29: Pegasystems Inc., the enterprise AI software company for mission-critical work, announced the launch of its first–ever National Internship Program (NIP) at its flagship event, PegAInnovate. NIP is a five-week, 100% virtual learning experience delivered in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and SmartBridge Educational Services. As part of Pega‘s investment in developing future technology talent NIP gives students across India direct, hands-on access to the technologies now reshaping how enterprises work.

Throughout the program, dedicated Pega mentors work closely with students, introducing them to the latest thinking in enterprise and workflow automation, generative AI through Pega Blueprint, and agentic AI. Senior Pega leaders join select sessions as well, sharing the company’s unique position in the market and showing students how a career built within the Pega ecosystem can prepare them for the workforce of the future.
NIP serves as a precursor to Pega’s flagship University Academic Program (UAP), which is also expected to go live in August 2026 with a new strategy and curriculum. Together, the two programs reflect Pega’s broader commitment to building a sustained talent pipeline across India’s academic institutions.
More Than an Internship
NIP is built around a simple idea: give students a real look at how the next generation of applications will be designed, built, and delivered in an AI–first world. India already trains one of the largest pools of engineering talent anywhere in the world, so the challenge was never about supply. It is about readiness, about creating opportunities that make that talent job-ready, future-ready, and AI–ready. Colleges across the country are already working to close that gap by sharpening their focus on employability and industry alignment, and NIP is designed to meet that effort halfway through virtual instructor-led learning, hands-on projects, and industry-aligned learning pathways that connect classroom concepts to real enterprise expectations.

That appetite showed up almost immediately. Within the first week of launch, NIP drew more than 10,000 registrations in ten days and reached nearly 75,000 students across 1,500 colleges nationwide.
