Mumbai, India July 29: IMDb, the world’s most popular and authoritative source for information on movies, TV shows, and celebrities, presented an IMDb “Breakout Star” STARmeter Award to Blast and Idhayam Murali star Preity Mukhundhan. Since making her debut in 2024, Mukhundhan has built a multilingual career, working across Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema.

Mukhundhan delivered breakout performances in the two Tamil movies in the span of two months, Blast (rated 7.3/10) and Idhayam Murali, (rated 8.8/10 by IMDb customers). Her performances drove a surge in her popularity on IMDb, with Mukhundhan featuring among the Top 10 on the Popular Indian Celebrities list for two consecutive weeks, ranking No. 2 in the first week and No. 6 in the following week. Following these two successful releases, she shows no signs of slowing down, and has an exciting slate of five more films scheduled for release soon. Among her upcoming projects are the Telugu film Emo Emo Idi and an untitled Tamil film alongside Ashok Selvan.
