HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata marked Doctors’ Day with an evening that celebrated not only doctors, but the spirit of teamwork that powers cancer care every day.
The celebration brought together doctors, nurses, operations teams, marketing personnel and other staff members in a lively format built around team games, easy camaraderie and shared laughter. Four mixed teams were formed across departments and verticals, creating a truly free-flowing evening of interaction beyond formal roles and routine hospital responsibilities.
The games included Food Charades, Bollywood Quiz, Buzzer Trivia, Word Building and Brand Quiz. Participants threw themselves into the activities with visible enthusiasm. In Food Charades, team members had to enact eating a particular food item for others to guess its name, while in the Bollywood round, participants emulated dance moves to help teammates identify popular songs.
The friendly competition grew sharper through the evening, with doctors and staff alike animatedly staking claims to finishing the Word Building challenge first, debating quiz answers and good-naturedly protesting the difficulty level of the Brand Quiz. After the exhilarating game show, invitees also took to the floor, dancing to retro and contemporary Bollywood numbers.
Dr Rupali Basu, Regional Business Head, HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata, said, “In a cancer hospital, teamwork is the foundation of care. From tumour boards to treatment planning to patient support, outcomes depend on seamless coordination across specialities and departments. The evening was a joyful reflection of that same collaborative spirit.”
The celebration ended, as all good evenings should, with conversation, laughter and an elaborate dinner spread.
