Bengaluru , July 6 : Raymond Limited today announced the appointment of Bhanu Prakash Srivastava as Chief Executive Officer -Defence, marking a significant milestone in the company’s strategic expansion into India’s rapidly evolving defence and aerospace ecosystem.
With nearly four decades of distinguished leadership at Bharat Electronics Limited, Bhanu Prakash brings deep expertise in defence technologies, large-scale programme execution and institution building. In his new role, he will lead Raymond’s defence business, defining its strategic vision, operational roadmap and growth agenda as the company builds a future-ready, technology-led defence platform.
As India accelerates its vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and strengthens indigenous defence manufacturing, the sector is emerging as a key pillar of the nation’s strategic and technological transformation. As Chairman & Managing Director of BEL, Bhanu Prakash tripled market capitalisation from ~₹51,000 crore to ₹1.5 lakh crore, secured ₹55,000+ crore in new orders, and launched 100+ products while strengthening R&D. He led mission-critical programmes across radar, naval and sonar systems, missiles, electronic warfare and tactical communications, championed indigenisation, and set up AI incubation centres to advance India’s defence ecosystem.
At Raymond, Bhanu Prakash will work to shape and execute the company’s long-term defence strategy. He will drive the evolution of Raymond’s engineering capabilities from precision manufacturing into higher-value defence electronics, software, systems integration and adjacent aerospace and automotive technologies.

Bhanu Prakash is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology , Varanasi, and has dedicated 39 years to advancing India’s defence manufacturing and technology capabilities across leadership roles in operations, R&D, marketing, naval systems and strategic programme execution.
