New Delhi, July 06: On the occasion of Insurance Awareness Day, Liberty General Insurance Ltd. organised a five-day Road Safety and Insurance Awareness Drive across select petrol pumps in Delhi to sensitise vehicle owners about the importance of insurance, responsible accident response, and road safety. The initiative, conducted from 28th June to 2nd July 2026, was part of Liberty’s efforts as the Lead Non-Life Insurer for Delhi, in alignment with the regulator’s vision of “Insurance for All by 2047.”
As part of the initiative, Liberty set up dedicated awareness stalls at petrol pumps, including the Indian Oil Petrol Pump at 11 Block X, Railway Colony, Tis Hazari Metro Pillar, Pillar No. 43, New Delhi. Visitors were engaged through simple, meaningful conversations on the role of insurance in protecting individuals and families, the importance of timely policy renewals, and the need to be better prepared in the event of a road accident. Each visitor was also offered a complimentary First Aid Kit along with a specially curated accident response booklet in English and Hindi.
The booklet was designed to create awareness on what citizens should do when they witness or are involved in a road accident, including the importance of staying calm, helping victims, avoiding road rage, contacting emergency services, and understanding the Good Samaritan Law. The initiative aimed to encourage bystanders to support accident victims without fear of legal or procedural harassment, while also reminding vehicle owners that insurance is not just a regulatory requirement but an essential financial safety net.
Speaking on the initiative, Parag Ved, CEO & Whole-Time Director, Liberty General Insurance Ltd., said, “The regulator’s vision of Insurance for All by 2047 is not only about expanding insurance coverage, but also about building awareness, responsibility and confidence among citizens. As the Lead Non-Life Insurer for Delhi, we believe it is important to take insurance conversations closer to people in places that are part of their everyday lives. Through this road safety and insurance awareness drive, our aim is to help vehicle owners understand the importance of being insured, being prepared, and responding responsibly when accidents occur.”
The five-day drive saw enthusiastic participation from citizens, with a cumulative footfall of over 1,100 visitors across the initiative. Many participants shared that the first aid kit and accident response booklet were practical and timely, especially for vehicle owners and daily commuters. Liberty General Insurance will continue to conduct similar awareness activities across Delhi over the coming months, further strengthening its commitment to road safety, insurance awareness and a safer, more secure community for all.
