New Delhi, June 30: Some conversations are easier to start with a laugh. Particularly when they touch upon deeply held assumptions. In education, one such assumption is that career guidance can come from almost anyone. While the intent is often well-meaning, the line between opinion and informed guidance is not always clear.

College Vidya’s latest digital campaign uses humour to explore this reality. Featuring educator and mentor Dr. Vijender Singh Chauhan alongside creator-comedian Satish Ray, the satirical film takes a light-hearted look at the culture of advice that surrounds students and professionals alike, while prompting a more serious conversation about the value of qualified guidance.

As learners navigate an expanding universe of online universities, degree programmes and career pathways, the campaign highlights a simple but important distinction: while opinions are everywhere, meaningful guidance requires context, expertise and an understanding of an individual’s goals, circumstances and aspirations.

Commenting on the creative thought behind the campaign, Rashid Ali, CMO, College Vidya and Concept & Creative Director of the film, said,

“Advice has always shaped education decisions in India, but today’s learners are choosing between hundreds of programmes and career pathways. Humour helped us open up a serious conversation about why informed guidance matters.”

At the centre of the campaign is College Vidya’s Board of Mentors, comprising Dr. Vijender Singh Chauhan, Himeesh Madaan, Amogh Lila Das, Naveen Kasturia, and Ravi Kapoor, former IRS officer, who help train and strengthen the capabilities of the platform’s Career Development Advisors. The Board was introduced through the ‘Yahan Sab Gyaani Hain’ campaign, which first appeared on over 10,000+ tea cups distributed across tea stalls in Delhi NCR before culminating in the digital film, bringing the conversation around informed mentorship into everyday spaces where career advice is often exchanged.

The film has generated strong engagement across digital platforms, recording over 1M+ organic views across YouTube and Instagram.

Speaking about the campaign, Rohit Gupta, Co-Founder & COO, College Vidya, said,

“Learners today have access to more education options than ever before, but access to informed guidance remains limited. Through the Board of Mentors, we are strengthening our guidance ecosystem so learners can make better-informed education decisions. This campaign is our way of starting that conversation in a relatable and culturally relevant manner.”

The film was conceptualised and executed entirely by College Vidya’s in-house team, without the involvement of an external creative agency, reflecting the brand’s philosophy, ‘Everyone Else Sells. We Explain.’ It was brought to life by a multidisciplinary team led by director Pratyush Negi and producers Romin Yazeshani and Sumantra Talukdar, with creative contributions spanning cinematography, editing, music, colour, and post-production.
