The Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI) will host the 18th Annual AACI Clinical Research Innovation (CRI) Meeting, June 23-25, at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, IL. The meeting fosters peer-to-peer networking and collaboration among attendees from academic cancer centers, the pharmaceutical and information technology industries, and government health agencies.

This year’s meeting theme, Shaping the Future of Clinical Research Innovation, captures a pivotal moment in cancer clinical research. Session topics include the application of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to cancer research; decentralizing clinical trials to reach patients in rural and underserved communities; collaboration with industry partners; and day-to-day operations of clinical trials offices, from mentorship to funding, including the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Center Support Grant.

At 12:30 pm central time on Monday, June 23, David Glickman, CSP, CPAE, will deliver “A Dose of Healthcare Humor.” The perspective-shifting keynote presentation, supported by Advarra, blends observational humor and song parodies with practical strategies for coping with workplace stress. At 4:00 pm CT, an interactive poster session will allow attendees to share their research discoveries and learn about innovative solutions in development at other AACI cancer centers. More than 120 posters will be displayed at the session.

On Tuesday, June 24, attendees are invited to share their “Five-Minute Wins” during a series of rapidfire presentations highlighting recent successes at AACI cancer centers. Scheduled for 10:45 am and 2:15 pm CT, they are part of a full slate of concurrent breakout sessions. The AACI Corporate Roundtable Trial Activation Task Force will share insights from Accelerating Clinical Trial Activation: A Collaborative Framework for Managing Pre-Activation Protocol Amendments during “Reducing Time to Activation,” also at 2:15. Beginning at 3:45 pm CT, authors of four winning abstracts will present their findings and answer audience questions. The winning abstracts were among 143 total abstracts submitted to this year’s meeting.

Other meeting highlights include special presentations from AACI Tech Gold members IgniteData (with Advarra), Medidata, and Yunu, and invitation-only Tech Connect events hosted by Triomics, Veeva, and Tech Gold member Paradigm Health.

Throughout the three-day meeting, attendees will have ample time to network and connect, not only with peers in cancer research, but with exhibitors, cancer center leaders, and key stakeholders from government and industry.
