Kolkata, June 18: Bengal Business Council brought together over 200 entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals and industry leaders from across West Bengal for the biggest-ever edition of its flagship networking platform, Aalap Alochona, held at P.C. Chandra Garden recently. Participants from Kolkata, Siliguri, Durgapur and other parts of the state came together to connect, exchange ideas and explore new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
The gathering was graced by the presence of Shri Rathindra Bose, Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by members of the governing body of Bengal Business Council, including President Shri Chandrasekhar Ghosh, Senior Vice President Shri Subrata Dutta, Vice President Shri Debarshi Dutta Gupta, Chairman Shri Avishek Auddy, Vice Chairman Shri Meghdut Roychowdhury, Founder and General Secretary Shri Subhashis Dutt, Deputy General Secretary Smt Dola Mallik, Chief Mentor Smt Manoshi Roychowdhury, Director of Membership & IT Shri Avelo Roy, and Director of Event Shri Gourab Ghosh.
Addressing the gathering, President Shri Chandrasekhar Ghosh shared the Council’s five-year journey and its mission to challenge the long-standing misconception that Bengalis are not inclined towards business and entrepreneurship. He highlighted the growing participation of entrepreneurs from across the state and urged the need to encourage the next generation to build enterprises, create employment and contribute to Bengal’s economic progress.
Hon’ble Speaker Shri Rathindra Bose underscored the importance of entrepreneurship and commerce in societal progress. He emphasised that business development is essential for economic growth and appreciated the efforts of the Bengal Business Council for uniting entrepreneurs from across the state on a common platform. He encouraged members to continue supporting one another, fostering collaboration, and inspiring younger generations to pursue entrepreneurship as a viable career path. Reflecting on Bengal’s rich legacy of excellence across diverse fields, he expressed confidence that the state would continue to produce individuals who make meaningful contributions nationally and globally.
Chairman Shri Avishek Auddy shared the six-point agenda that has guided Bengal Business Council since its inception. He reiterated the Council’s commitment to nurturing new Bengali entrepreneurs, supporting emerging businesses, building a strong business ecosystem within the community, representing the concerns of entrepreneurs before relevant authorities, celebrating Bengali business success stories and inspiring future generations to embrace entrepreneurship.
A significant highlight of the evening was the announcement of Bengal Business Council’s upcoming documentary series, “A Goldmine Called Bengal,” by Chairman Shri Avishek Auddy. Attendees were given an exclusive preview of the series through the screening of its trailer.
The programme concluded with an extended networking session, allowing members to interact freely, explore collaborations, and strengthen professional relationships, followed by dinner.
With record participation and representation from multiple regions of West Bengal, the June 2026 edition of Aalap Alochona reaffirmed Bengal Business Council’s commitment to building meaningful connections, fostering entrepreneurship, and creating a stronger and more collaborative business community across the state.
