
VKM’s NMIMS Jadcherla Campus celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment towards environmental sustainability. The event was organized in collaboration with Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) and brought together eminent dignitaries, academicians, industry experts, faculty members, staff, and students.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Molly Chaturvedi, Assistant Professor, School of Commerce, who highlighted the significance of World Environment Day and emphasized the collective responsibility of preserving the environment for future generations.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mrs. C.H. Jyothi, Zonal Manager, Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), Shamshabad Zone, Telangana. Other distinguished guests included Sri Subbarao, Deputy Zonal Manager, TGIIC; Smt. N. Shilpa, Deputy Zonal Manager, TGIIC; Sri Naseer, Deputy Zonal Manager, TGIIC; and Sri R. Sudhir, Chief Environmental Consultant, TGIIC. The event saw the presence of Management team of NMIMS Shri Bhargav Patel and Shri Praveen Doshi, Trustees of SVKM NMIMS, Dr. Abhishek Ranjan, Pro Vice Chancellor, NMIMS, Dr. Ashwini Deshpande, Deputy Director, NMIMS Hyderabad, and Dr. Ebenezar, Principal, SVKM School, Hyderabad.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Abhishek Ranjan emphasized the importance of creating a greener environment and urged everyone to adopt sustainable practices to protect natural resources. Dr. Ashwini Deshpande thanked TGIIC for their valuable support and highlighted the importance of environmental conservation. Dr. Ebenezar shared the various green initiatives undertaken by SVKM School, including gifting saplings to students on important occasions, thereby nurturing environmental responsibility among young minds.
The Chief Guest, Mrs. C.H. Jyothi, elaborated on the initiatives undertaken by the Telangana Government and TGIIC towards promoting a cleaner, greener, and sustainable environment. Sri R. Sudhir, Chief Environmental Consultant, TGIIC, provided valuable insights on carbon footprints, environmental sustainability, and the environmental challenges and opportunities associated with data centres.
The programme concluded with an environmental pledge and a tree plantation drive, symbolizing the commitment of all participants towards a sustainable future. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. N. Mahesh Kumar, Deputy Registrar, NMIMS Hyderabad, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to TGIIC, the NMIMS management, dignitaries, faculty members, support staff, and all participants for their valuable contributions in making the event a grand success.
