Initiative aims to improve comfort, mobility and quality of life for elderly residents through personalised, non-invasive pain management support

CURAPOD Partners with VridhCare for Father’s Day Initiative to Support Senior Citizens in Hyderabad

Hyderabad | June 16: CURAPOD, India’s first personalised wearable pain therapy device backed by Litemed India Private Limited, has partnered with VridhCare Quality of Life Foundation, India, a holistic not-for-profit NGO that focuses on improving the lives of the most neglected elderly living in old-age homes. The initiative forms part of CURAPOD’s ongoing ’21 Days, 21 Fathers’ campaign, which seeks to encourage greater awareness and conversation about pain, mobility, and overall well-being among fathers and older adults.

As part of the programme, CURAPOD’s founders, doctors, trainers and experts visited Amma Nanna Old Age Home in Hyderabad, engaging with 35 senior citizens and caregivers through demonstrations and awareness sessions on its personalised, non-invasive pain management technology. Caregivers and volunteers were also trained on device usage and therapy protocols, helping extend the benefits beyond the event. The initiative combined healthcare innovation with community outreach to support healthy ageing, pain management and overall well-being among elderly residents.

The visit held a special significance for CURAPOD’s Co-Founder & CTO, Mr Suryaprakash Maguluri. Having grown up with both his grandmothers while losing both his grandfathers at an early age, the opportunity to spend time with elderly residents on Father’s Day carried a deeply personal meaning. Interacting with them and addressing some of them as “Thatha” (grandfather) brought back memories of family and reinforced the importance of creating stronger support systems for senior citizens.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr Suryaprakash Maguluri, Co-Founder & CTO, CURAPOD, said, “Many senior citizens silently live with chronic pain that affects their mobility, independence and overall quality of life. Through our partnership with VridhCare, we hope to make effective, non-invasive pain relief more accessible and help elderly residents stay active and have a pain-free life. What stood out during our visit was the resilience and positivity of the residents despite the challenges many of them face. Their outlook on life was both inspiring and humbling, and it reinforced our belief that innovation is most meaningful when it helps people live with greater comfort, dignity and confidence.”

Mrs. Gargi Lakhanpal, Director of VridhCare Quality of Life Foundation, said, “this initiative is not only much needed, but also a commendable one. Seniors in old-age homes generally suffer from joint and muscle pain, which is caused by sedentary lifestyle and physical limitations. This effort could potentially lessen that debilitating impact. We hope this initiative will act as inspiration for others like Curapod to contribute in this direction. Only through collective effort can there be meaningful change”.

Building on the Father’s Day initiative, CURAPOD and VridhCare plan to expand their collaboration through future outreach programmes aimed at supporting senior citizens and promoting healthier ageing.
