Prayagraj, June 10: Some cafés are made for rushing in and out. Adhira & Appa is not one of them. The brand has opened the doors of its first Prayagraj café at 70B/58, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, a place built for the unhurried cup, the long catch-up, and the kind of afternoon that stretches a little past where you expected it to. The opening marks the brand’s 16th café across India and its first in Uttar Pradesh.

At its heart is a coffee the South has loved for generations, authentic filter coffee, the decoction drawn slowly and poured frothy between steel davara and tumbler, warm and aromatic in a way no machine quite manages. Around that comforting constant, the kitchen has a little fun. The dosa arrives folded like a taco, the medu vada turns up crisped in a waffle iron familiar flavours wearing a friendly new shape, the sort of thing that makes the table laugh before it tucks in.
The space itself is an invitation to stay. Adhira & Appa has always described what it does in three simple words, good food, good coffee, good conversations and in Prayagraj that comes to life as soft light, easy seating and a counter that hums gently through the day. It is a café that feels less like a stop and more like a second living room.
“We wanted to create a place that feels like it has always belonged here,” said Karan Mendon, COO of Adhira & Appa Café. “Prayagraj is a city that understands the value of slowing down over a cup, over a conversation, over the river. Our filter coffee asks for exactly that kind of patience, and gives it right back. More than anything, we hope people walk in as guests and leave feeling like regulars.”
For the team behind it, the café is also a small act of belief that warmth and authenticity travel well, to every kind of city. “This brand was built on care,” said Dr. Irfan Khan, Chairman & Founder, EBG Group. “Care in how we source our beans, care in keeping our coffee gentle on the planet, and care in the kind of spaces we create. Adhira & Appa began in Kochi and has since found homes in Chandigarh, Nashik, Hyderabad and Nagpur. Prayagraj felt like a natural next chapter, a city with a deep sense of community, exactly the kind of place this café was made for.”
The Prayagraj launch is part of a rapid national expansion Adhira & Appa will open its next cafés in Lucknow and Noida within a month, deepening its presence across Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region. The brand is the flagship food-and-beverage venture of EBG Group, and is growing towards 100 cafés across India by the end of 2026, with a steady focus on welcoming Tier-2 cities into the fold.
To accelerate this growth, Adhira & Appa has opened franchise opportunities, including Master Franchise partnerships, for investment. The brand invites entrepreneurs and investors who share its philosophy of warmth, authenticity and community to be part of its expansion story across India’s emerging cities.
The café is now open and pouring at 70B/58, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Prayagraj, kettle on, table waiting.
