India, June 9 : Marriott International, Inc. today announced a signing agreement with MS Group, expected to bring the first JW Marriott brand to the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal in Kathmandu. Anticipated to open in early 2031, the newly built, JW Marriott Hotel Kathmandu Valley will introduce the brand’s signature expression of mindful luxury to the city, a destination celebrated for its adventurous spirit, sacred traditions, and profound sense of place.

JW Marriott Hotel Kathmandu Valley is expected to form a part of a mixed-use development featuring retail and entertainment offerings, including a casino operated independently of the hotel. Envisioned as a serene urban retreat, the hotel will embody the brand’s philosophy of mindful luxury, where intuitive hospitality and purposeful design come together to create an environment that encourages guests to pause, reconnect, and be fully present. Expected to feature 221 elegantly designed guest rooms and suites, the hotel is slated to offer a refined luxury experience inspired by the destination’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual depth. Culinary experiences are expected to span multiple distinct venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, multiple specialty restaurants, a Lobby Lounge, Signature Bar, and JW Market, the brand’s contemporary café concept offering artisanal pastries, handcrafted beverages, and fresh seasonal offerings.
Further enriching the guest journey, design plans for the hotel also include multiple tranquil spaces, such as the brand’s signature JW Garden. Supporting a holistic approach to well-being, leisure and recreation facilities are expected to include the signature Spa by JW, a fitness centre, and a swimming pool. The hotel is also slated to feature more than 1,600 square meters of flexible meeting and event spaces designed to host a range of gatherings, from intimate celebrations and weddings to large-scale social occasions and corporate events.
