Mumbai, June 02: Located in the heart of Thane, Mahavir Jain Hospital is a leading multi-speciality healthcare institution known for its advanced medical infrastructure, patient-centric approach, and specialised treatment capabilities across critical care disciplines. The hospital has reported significant growth in patient footfall, specialised treatments, and advanced healthcare services during the first quarter of 2026, reinforcing its position as an emerging tertiary healthcare destination in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The momentum follows the hospital’s recent landmark organ donation case, where a highly coordinated green corridor operation involving reputed healthcare institutions such as Fortis Hospital Mulund and KEM Hospital Mumbai helped save four lives, further highlighting Mahavir Jain Hospital’s advanced medical capabilities, emergency response infrastructure, and critical care excellence.

Hospital data between January and March 2026 reflects over 1,200 IPD admissions, more than 400 surgeries, and sustained growth across departments, including interventional radiology, cardiology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and general medicine. Diagnostic services, including CT scans, sonography, X-rays, and cardiac imaging, also witnessed strong demand, indicating an increase in patient confidence in the hospital’s tertiary care infrastructure.

As part of this strategy, the hospital has onboarded several senior specialists across key disciplines, including vascular and plastic surgery, rheumatology, neurophysiology, gastroenterology, and cardiovascular thoracic surgery (CVTS). The hospital has also introduced advanced speciality services such as retinal surgeries and cochlear implant surgeries, further strengthening its comprehensive care offerings within Thane.

The institution is additionally preparing for its next phase of growth over the next 6–12 months, with plans to introduce cosmetic dermatology services and initiate liver transplant surgeries within the coming year.

Speaking about the hospital’s long-term vision, Ajay Ashar, Chairman of Mahavir Jain Trust, said, “Healthcare today is not only about building long-term trust, accessibility, and advanced medical infrastructure closer to where people live. Our vision at Mahavir Jain Hospital is to create a patient-centric, multi-speciality healthcare institution capable of delivering world-class care across critical, preventive, and specialised treatment segments within Thane itself. The recent organ donation case reinforced the importance of coordinated healthcare systems, and we remain committed to continuously strengthening our capabilities for the community.”

The hospital also recently organised an organ donation awareness initiative aimed at encouraging community participation and educating citizens about the life-saving impact of organ donation. Conducted following the hospital’s successful multi-organ donation case, the initiative focused on spreading awareness around timely organ pledging, coordinated transplant systems, and the importance of public participation in saving lives through organ donation.

Hospital authorities stated that the growing scale of services reflects Thane’s increasing emergence as a destination for high-quality, specialised healthcare delivery within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
