Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Omega-1, Greater Noida, successfully organised an HPV and influenza (flu) vaccine awareness for the 9 to 18 years and above age group, aiming to spread awareness about the prevention of HPV-related diseases and cancers. The initiative highlighted the importance of early vaccination among both girls and boys to ensure long-term protection against serious health conditions.

The awareness session was led by Dr Ashutosh Kumar Sinha, Director & HOD – Pediatrics & Neonatology, who educated parents and young participants about Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a common viral infection that can lead to cervical cancer, throat cancer, genital warts, and several other HPV-related diseases if not prevented in time. He explained that HPV vaccination is one of the safest and most effective preventive measures available today and emphasised that both girls and boys should receive timely vaccination for long-term protection and improved future health outcomes.
During the session, Dr Sinha also highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare at an early age and encouraged parents to prioritise vaccination and regular health screenings for their children.
The event also focused on awareness regarding influenza (flu), a contagious viral infection that affects the respiratory system. Doctors at the hospital informed attendees about the growing importance of annual flu vaccination, particularly for children, elderly individuals, and people with low immunity, to reduce the risk of seasonal infections and complications.
As part of the initiative, the hospital organized a free preventive health check-up for both children and parents to encourage early diagnosis and preventive healthcare practices. Dr Ashwani Kansal, senior consultant and director of the preventive health check department, personally interacted with participants during the health check-up session and highlighted the importance of preventive health check-ups to understand one’s current health condition, enable early detection of diseases, ensure timely and proper management, improve treatment outcomes for ongoing illnesses, and help avoid higher medical expenditure in the future. He also provided valuable medical guidance on overall wellness, healthy lifestyle management, nutrition, immunity building, and the importance of regular medical screenings for families.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sunil Kumar Baliyan, COO & Facility Director at Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital said,
“Preventive healthcare and vaccination play a crucial role in protecting future generations from serious diseases. HPV vaccination can significantly reduce the risk of cervical and other HPV-related cancers. Awareness among parents, adolescents, and young adults is extremely important because timely vaccination offers long-term safety and protection. Along with HPV, influenza vaccination is also essential to strengthen immunity and prevent seasonal viral infections.”
To make the event more engaging and interactive for children, the hospital also organized a health-themed painting competition focused on preventive care and healthy living. More than 300 children from various schools across Greater Noida enthusiastically participated in the event and showcased their creativity through meaningful artwork promoting health awareness and healthy lifestyle practices. The winners of the competition were felicitated with prizes and certificates for their outstanding performances.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, teachers, healthcare professionals, and local residents, further reinforcing the importance of vaccination, preventive healthcare, and community-driven health awareness initiatives.
