Chulalongkorn University congratulates Mr. Phataradon Akarach, Mr. Ratanon Khamrong, and Mr. Settapun Laoaree, first-year students in the Computer Engineering and Digital Technology  program at the Faculty of Engineering’s Department of Computer Engineering. The team was selected to develop the national platform “PMUC Zero Burn to Earn,” which has since been successfully launched and implemented in real-world applications. The achievement highlights the ability of Chulalongkorn students to apply technological knowledge and innovation to generate meaningful social and environmental impact.

“PMUC Zero Burn to Earn” serves as a nationwide collaborative platform linking the government sector, private sector, educational institutions, and farmers to transform agricultural waste into valuable resources instead of burning it—one of the major contributors to PM2.5 pollution. Through a “Send–Receive–Exchange” mechanism, farmers can submit agricultural waste materials to earn digital reward points (“PMUC Points”), which can later be redeemed for benefits and innovations that support the sustainable development of the Bio-Circular-Green  Economy.

The student development team includes:

  • Mr. Phataradon Akarach — Project Manager
  • Mr. Ratanon Khamrong — Full Stack Developer
  • Mr. Settapun Laoaree — Media and DevOps

The project was supervised and advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Narongdech Keeratipranon, Head of the Computer Engineering and Digital Technology  program.

The platform officially launched on April 28, 2026, at the co-working Space of the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council in Chamchuri Square. Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, presided over the event and shared his vision for using innovation to address PM2.5 pollution sustainably.

The initiative also received support from leading universities and organizations, including:

  • Chiang Mai University
  • Kasetsart University
  • Mahidol University
  • Dow Thailand
  • PTT Global Chemical
  • Energy Absolute
