KL Deemed to be University has been conferred with the prestigious Gold Award at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) EHS Excellence Awards 2025 held in New Delhi recently, reaffirming the institution’s strong commitment towards Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) excellence and sustainable campus practices.

KL Deemed to be University Wins Gold Award at CII EHS Excellence Awards 2025

The CII EHS Excellence Awards are among India’s most respected recognitions in the field of Environmental, Health, and Safety management. The assessment process evaluates organizations across multiple sectors including PSUs, heavy industries, higher educational institutions, and MSMEs through a rigorous multi-stage evaluation mechanism. The process includes submission of a comprehensive dossier based on 27 EHS parameters, followed by online scrutiny, on-site physical assessment, stakeholder interactions, detailed presentations, and verification of operational records. This year, more than 350 organizations from across the country participated in the assessment process.

Adding to this achievement, KL Deemed to be University was also recognized as the Sector Topper in Education category. Commander Gurumoorthy Gangadharan, Senior Director (Planning & Development), represented the University at the prestigious award ceremony and received the honour from Shri Sudip Dalvi, Chairman, CII EHS Excellence Awards 2025 and Senior Vice President & Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, in the presence of Shri Rajesh Mittal, President & Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India.

Commenting on the recognition, Er. Koneru Satyanarayana, Chancellor of KL Deemed to be University, stated that the University continuously strives to emerge as a leader in Environmental, Health, and Safety practices through its strategic vision, clearly defined operational goals, and sustained commitment towards implementing measurable and impactful EHS initiatives.

The University has consistently integrated sustainability-driven practices through its academic curriculum, research and development activities, green campus initiatives, energy conservation measures, waste management systems, and environmentally responsible outreach programmes undertaken as part of its University Social Responsibility (USR) initiatives.

The Gold Award reflects KLEF’s strong institutional commitment towards EHS excellence, operational efficiency, sustainability, and measurable environmental impact. KL Deemed to be University is also certified with ISO 50001:2018 for Energy Management Systems and ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems, further strengthening its position as a sustainability-focused higher education institution.
